Corn Dawgs Field Trip

Today we enjoyed a trip to Corn Dawgs with some of our homeschool friends. It was a beautiful day and there was lots to do. The kids all had a blast.

Thoughts for Thursday

One of the many perks of homeschooling is that my child is not confined to a desk. They can take their work anywhere. What better place than the quiet of nature to sit and compose.

Theron was actually home on this day, putting on the pool cover, and snapped this shot of our little writer.
This is what Theron was working on.

He keeps trying to come up with some way to prevent water from collecting on the pool cover. When he does, we can probably make a lot of money from his invention.

An Unexpected Adventure

The day started early, as we were headed to Marietta for an Air Show. Most of us slept in the car on the way. When we arrived at our destination, it was unusually uncrowded. We began to feel that we were in the Twilight Zone. My brave husband got out of the car and walked up to the Air Force building to investigate. "What do mean? I know nothing about an air show," the man rudely replied. But it was in the news, with much detail about what and who was going to be there; all these activities he was looking forward to sharing with his son and daughter.
Wow, that really tells you how reliable the news is, doesn't it? Well, I won't get into that right now, 'cause we really had a great day after all.
We came up with a plan B on the spot and decided to go to Kennesaw Mountain, especially since Theron and the kids have never been. I myself have been many times, but it had been awhile. Parking is an issue there, and the only place we could find when we first arrived was for the visitor's center, so we did that first. Then we went back to our car and decided we would walk up the mountain trail if a parking space opened up. We drove around one time and Voila! Here we go!

New Hair Accessories for Fall

While out in the beautiful weather today, I  (or rather, my daughter) was struck with a novel idea.
This is probably nothing new. People (especially women) of many cultures have adorned their hair with flowers and other things of nature. I realize this is not for everyone. Some might even cringe at the thought.
Let me show you our new line of ANEW ANOLE. There are no wires, no elastic, and no clamps. It stays in place pretty much on it's own. Just put it where you want it, or better yet, let it choose. Best worn on the sunny side of your head.

On the side

Fully animated, and they change color, too.

To place your order, call 021-Lizards.
We cannot be responsible for lost lizards, leaping lizards, or little old ladies who are afraid of lizards.
Keep your lizard in your hair at all times.
No refunds or credit given.

Thanks to my model, Hannah. She really enjoyed posing in the sun, as did new anole.

Thanks to Josiah, our anole handler. He's the one who catches them.

And finally, thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Green and Mr. Brown (aka Mr. Green with a different suit on, sorry we just couldn't get enough anoles to interview) for their input.
"Don't you think it looks nice, dear?"

"I would get my wife one for sure."
New anole was released after the making of this production.

Camping, Mazing, and Walking

I'm thankful for a fun-filled weekend. Boy, am I tired! But it was good to be out in the fresh (although sometimes cold) fall air and get some much needed exercise and be with friends.
