Okay, I feel a bit silly here, but I am going to risk it.
You probably already knew this about mechanical pencils, so just humor me while I share my newfound knowledge with the world.
Recently my daughter bought some of these type pencils at Kroger in the marked-down section. She has enjoyed using them for her school work and writing her books.
Today, she surprised me by taking off the eraser and emptying out the contents saying, "Look, Mom,
I found out where the lead comes from."
When I got over the shock of such an incredibly clever thing that had been hidden from me all these years - You know I wasn't born yesterday, but I always thought you had to buy those packages of extra leads. Sure I read instructions and labels, but maybe all of mine were given to me without packaging or labels. Well the secret is out now! - I explained to dear daughter that those were actually spares and showed her how to replace one.
I had to check out my "older" models just to see if maybe this was a new thing, but NO even my old ones have that feature. Who knew? Did you?
My kids thought I was crazy. I was so excited - snapping pictures for my blog and wondering how many other people did not know.

Mousy Monday
Hey Petunia! I have an idea.
What is it?
Let's go out in the yacht?
I'll be right there.
Here we go!
. . .
(later)
That was a nice ride.
Oh no! Our home has been invaded by mice.
Yep! And they're eating our food, too.
Don't worry, Dear. I'll take care of them.
Now, they're gone.
All is well.
Home Sweet Home.

Be Careful What You Say . . .
The same day we did our shopping and mini-date, Theron and I were joking about being tired from being sick and wondering who could take care of us. Hannah volunteered! By the end of the day, she had created a list of things that she and Josiah would do to take care of her feeble parents including making a stack of "breakfast in bed card" for us to use. Ha! Ha! It may actually happen some day.
Then later while we were out and talking about where we would go for a snack, Theron said "Well, if we go there, Josiah will want a Sprite." It made me think of the book, IF YOU GIVE A MOOSE A MUFFIN, so I said, "And if you give him a Sprite, he'll have to go to the bathroom, and after he goes to the bathroom, etc., etc,." When we arrived at the kids favorite place and asked Josiah what he wanted to drink, he adamently stated, "I don't want anything to drink."
"Why?" "Because I'll have to go to the bathroom!" Obviously he was listening, . . . this time.
