My Children

These are the children that made me a mom.
These are the eyes that see me make mistakes, but see me try,
the ears that hear everything I say, but hear me say I'm sorry,
the mouths that repeat those things, . . . and sing sweet praises to God,
the hands that I hold and remind them to wash, and the ones that serve,
the feet that once kicked inside of me, and now dance around my heart.

(the pictures were taken Saturday at Berry College)
On Mother's Day, Hannah made me a special card and Josiah made me a sandwich (peanut butter, turkey, and a touch of honey : ).

Happy Mother's Day to . . .

My Mom
You devoted your early years to us
cooking and sewing
and teaching us responsibility.
*
You taught us the value of family
and togetherness
and to love others as we love ourselves.
*
You gave up career to keep your home
and assure that four children
had a loving place to live.
*
You did not expect us to be just like you
and encouraged
our varied interests.
*
You are and will always be a part of us
We, a part of you
your offspring
*
Never too old to run into your arms
and say
"I LOVE YOU!"
