Saturday Surprise and CCMA family picnic

After a long hard day of working in the yard on Saturday, we showered off the dirt and put on fresh clothes. Theron drove us to our new favorite asian restaurant, Fung Mei, where we enjoy the food and the atmosphere of three very large aquariums.
After our meal, we head to the mall for a game of Neon Golf. We've decided that our new Saturday evening activity will be of the active sort now that the weather is more agreable. Last week, was my choice and we walked the Greenway trail in Lilburn (well, almost all of it). This week was Hannah's choice and since I had gotten a coupon deal (thanks to the Jordan family), I offered that as an option, which Hannah did not refuse. It was not an outside activity and we would have waited for a rainy day, but the coupon was due to expire soon. Besides we had been outside all day already. We all got "glow in the dark" necklaces to wear and marveled at how the "blue light" made parts of our clothing appear to glow as well.
On Sunday, Josiah carried his bug habitat to church. In it was his prize catch from Saturday, a tree frog. He's been hearing them at night and wanting to go out after dark and find them. Well, I guess he got his wish and did not have to go out at night. He just had to climb a tree. On the way to church, he was talking about how amazing God has made each and every animal.
Josiah seened so mature as he showed the younger kids the tiny creature he had found. At the church picnic, he covered alot of ground chasing moths and butterflies, and collecting trash. This is a fairly new "hobby" of his. He finds things on the ground that have been discarded by others as having no value and tries to invent somthing with them. One of his jobs around the house use to be gathering the household trash, until I found that he was retrieving items from the trash to use for his inventions. I've heard it said that one person's trash is another person's treasure. Well, it is definitely true for him.
It was a great day for a picnic. There was a nice breeze and this park had sufficient shade to accomodate everyone. Thank you, Lord for a beautiful day.

Reformation Day 2010
We had a great time at the Reformation Day event once again. Thanks to all those who helped. I was unable to take pictures this time as my camera battery went dead, so look over here http://sojourningpeas.blogspot.com/
They got some wonderful pictures.

Resurrection Sunday
See, what a morning, gloriously bright
with the dawning of hope in Jerusalem;
folded the grave clothes, tomb filled with light
as the angels announce Christ is risen!
See God's salvation plan, wrought in love,
borne in pain, paid in sacrifice,
fulfilled in Christ, the Man,
for He lives; Christ is risen from the dead!
. . .
See Mary weeping, "Where is he laid?"
As in sorrow she turns from the empty tomb;
Hears a voice speaking, calling her name;
It's the Master, the Lord raised to life again!
The voice that spans the years,
Speaking life, stirring hope, bringing peace to us,
Will sound till He appears,
For He lives; Christ is risen from the dead!
. . .
One with the Father, Ancient of Days,
Through the Spirit who clothes faith with certainty;
Honour and blessing, glory and praise
To the King crowned with power and authority!
And we are raised with Him,
Death is dead, love has won, Christ has conquered;
And we shall reign with Him
For He lives; Christ is risen from the dead!

Christmas Eve Service at CCMA
Thanks be to God, we are in our new building! Theron and many others worked for three days, moving and getting things set up so we could have our first service in the new facility tonight. And now the doors are open. Come and worship.
There is no other reason we come together, but to worship our King! None else is worthy of our praise.

The One and Only Son of God, who came into the world as a baby, suffered and died for our sins and reigns in heaven above. It is often hard to imagine the God who created all, coming as One created, offering Himself as one helpless in order to ULTIMATELY HELP (rescue, redeem, purchase) US!

We are weak, but He is strong! He accepts our feeble praise. He clothes us in His Righteousness.

Our spirits, still wrapped in imperfect flesh, yearn to draw near to Him. Our hearts rise with the sound of the stringed instruments.

Last Year's Reformation Party
Each year our church holds a party to have fun and learn about those mightily used of God during the Reformation. Last year, the focus was Martin Luther. This year, we turn to look at John Calvin. Theron and I are in charge of making and manning the Timeline Spinner Game. It has been a learning experience just putting it together.
Below are some pictures I took last year. By the way, this was our first time ever at this church. We became almost instant friends with everyone and could not wait to visit on Sunday. Of course we eventually joined.
I hope to get better pictures this year. The spinner Theron made is awesome!
