The Prince and the Princess

The prince cautiously enters the ballroom.
He spies the princess and takes her hand.

They dance.

And they dance.

When the dance is over, the prince takes his horse, . . .

. . . and rides away.

Another day, another play.

End of Year Celebration

Last night was our children's recognition ceremony. This is something our homeschool group does every year and it is so much fun. It's a family event with food and fellowship and we enjoy the talents of young violinists, pianists, guitarists, soloists and speakers (our students!). This year there was also a display of artwork done by students.

. . .as well as impromptu artwork at each table. Markers, paper, and little wooden cut-outs were provided for the little artists.

Hannah carefully colored a butterfly.

Comgratulations, Hannah on completing 2nd grade and keeping us on our toes!

Josiah, for completing two preK programs and making us laugh.
. . .
It's fun to reminisce, so here are some pictures from last year's celebration.

I didn't get pictures of them with their certificates until we got home that year.

Hannah bravely sang 'This is My Father's World' accapello.
So sweet!
She had earned her very own hymnal that year for learning the first verse of six hymns and singing them for her choir teacher.

Some Summer Plans

I've begun a Bible Study with Hannah - How to Study the Bible for Kids by Kay Arthur. She's learning to be a scripture detective. She insisted that she needed her magnifying glass.

Both the kids are learning and memorizing Bible verses and hymns with something called Summer Fun-da-mentals. I'll let you know more about that later.

Today, Josiah did a simple craft making a train out of shapes.

It was from a craft book that a friend had given me. Everything you need is in the book. You just cut and paste and there are stickers. too. What fun!

Last Day of May

I can't believe that May is almost over. What a busy weekend we've had. After Chuck E. Cheese, we came home and did yard work. Hannah stayed up late and lost a tooth. You might be able to see the small gap in this picture, just to the left of her two front teeth.

Saturday, we went to McDaniel Farm Park with some friends from church. We grilled out and had some yummy watermelon! Josiah came prepared with crayon and paper to draw a map so we don't get lost and a duck noise maker from "Ride the Ducks" in case he did get lost, I guess.

Today, we had some friends over after church for lunch and a swim. The water was a bit chilly as we did not get the heater going, but it was such a warm day.

Kid Time at Chuck E. Cheese

The kids had been asking for quite some time to go to this place.

With schoolwork done, I had no excuse and it was a good way to

celebrate. It was a nice morning and not crowded yet. There were

some new games since we went last. Josiah's favorite was the

simulated roller coaster ride and Hannah's was the horse ride.

I forgot to put it in the credits of the video, so I will add it here.

The music is from GoFish.

Adventures in My Father's World - Last Day!

Yeah! We're done with our 180 days. Hannah is really excited about being able to wake up and just run outside and play or help me in the garden.

Here is her poster of the names of Jesus that we added to throughout the year. JESUS is the LIGHT OF THE WORLD, THE BREAD OF LIFE, THE SOLID ROCK, LIVING WATER, THE WAY, GOD WITH US, THE LAMB OF GOD, THE VINE, THE HEAD OF THE BODY, THE KING OF KINGS, SAVIOUR, GOOD SHEPHERD, THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE, THE WORD, THE ALPHA AND OMEGA.
