Saturday Night Game Night - Mom's Pick

One of my favorite games - The quick draw game, Pictionary. We might have gotten off to a rocky start, but everyone finally settled down and by the end of the game, we were all having a good time. I know it's not important who wins, but mine and Hannah's team won, even though Josiah and Theron were tough to beat.

Yellow River Game Ranch

January 17th (and I'm just now posting about it) we took advantage of $1 Day at Snellville's famous game ranch.

I enjoyed watching this little guy hop around like he had springs in his feet.

There was still snow on the ground when we went and it was cold, but the kids had a great time, especially when we ran into some friends and got to enjoy part of it with them. It was a nice beginning to our week after the big snow.

Saturday Night Game Night

What better thing to do on cold winter nights than play games. Something we have not done in a while, so recently we declared Saturday night "Game Night" to remedy that problem and foster more family togetherness.
Theron got to choose the first game.

Theron's pick
I must say this is not my favorite game. My defeats were too numerous to mention and everyone knows it's no fun to lose all of the time to someone who could play the game with their eyes closed. But the rules were that we play whatever game is chosen. (Next week is my turn to choose) So we all played and were good sports. Josiah teamed up with me (mostly rolling the dice). We could not finish the game on Saturday night, so it had to be carried over to tonight.
It looked as if Theron would win as usual, but then the game took a turn and my yellow pieces started becoming more abundant and spreading out over the board until it was just Hannah and myself left.

Yellow takes over the world!
Hannah hung in their for a little while to see if she could overcome me, but to no avail. I must say that I could not have done it without her. I think Theron figured out he was being ganged up on, though. He said next time Josiah gets to play his own pieces (so they can gang up on us).

Day Six of Snow

Theron got a workout today scraping snow off the driveway, so he could get the van out and drive us to the grocery store. The main roads weren't bad, but there are still a few icy patches to watch for.

We are a three dog home right now due to the fact that we are keeping two other dogs for friends. We still have Marshmallow (who isn't very mellow). . .

Day Five - Fun Friday

We still have snow and ice, but today's post is not about that.
Josiah is on the fifth day of Creation in MFW First Grade and I found some bird books at the library for us to read. He found this one terribly funny and wanted to do the craft at the end, too.

Day Four

We're taking a break from SmileBox this time. Not as many pictures to share. Theron went back to work today, leaving a big hole in the snow. Ice and snow are beginning to melt and Hannah got to see a huge icicle loose it's grip and fall to the deck. We had been watching it grow longer every day. I'm sad that it is gone.

I am so glad I don't have to drive a vehicle out in these conditions. Forgive me for being such a wimp when it comes to such things. The most I had to do was walk across the street and that was life threatening enough. I don't mind walking in snow, it's the slippery ice that gets me. Just watch the video at the end.
We are keeping a neighbor's dog until their regular sitter can make it through the ice and snow.
This dog loves kids and the kids love him. Josiah is enjoying running and romping with him.

Hannah and Little Lady enjoyed other pursuits.
